Sunglass Hut’s Style Director Rachel Bilson dishes on the sunglass trends she’s loving, the hair products she swears by, and how to perfect her signature smoky eye. Seventeen: Which sunglass trends are you loving for spring? Rachel Bilson: I keep seeing bright neons. I just think it’s cool and it’s kind of retro in a funky way. I like it! 17: Which type of frames looks best on different face shapes? RB: It really varies. I have a smaller face, so the Wayfarers work because they are a small frame. If you want to try big ’60s frames, you kind of need an angular face and a good nose. 17: What’s your biggest tip when it comes to shopping for sunglasses? RB: Try anything on. You never know what they will look like until you put them on your face. 17: You have the BEST hair — what products do you use to style your waves and what’s the secret to getting your look? RB: There is some stuff that I love and swear by. Davines’ shampoo and conditioner are really good. Frederic Fekkai’s Summer Hair Beach Waves spray is awesome! 17: How do you perfect your signature smoky eye? RB: I do like a slightly smoky eye! I usually wear eyeliner on the inside and smudge it underneath which kind of helps. I also use a darker shadow in the crease. 17: What’s it like working with Jamie King on Hart of Dixie? RB: We don’t work together that much because our story lines don’t cross that often, but we were friends before the show. 17: Your characters have such different style. Have you ever wanted to switch outfits? RB: I really like the vintage thing. it’s very proper and I think I’m a little too laid back for that style, but I admire it! |

Rachel Bilson has been lauded for her style since The OC premiered in 2003, but the 5-foot-2 actress insists she’s not a fashion snob. “I just really love being in my pajamas,” Bilson, 30, tells the April issue of Lucky. “My mother just got me a pair of Miss Piggy pajamas, and I love them.” Bilson’s day-to-day look is equally low-maintenance. “I seem to naturally go to neutrals, with a pop of color. I’m really big accessories person. You wear a plain T-shirt and jeans and then do something really cool with the jeans or the amazing shoes, or a really cool scarf or belt or bag.” The Hart of Dixie actress says when she puts outfits together, she focuses on comfort and warmth. “I don’t like to wear anything I’m not in the mood for.” That includes short, backless dresses with plunging necklines. “I guess I’m not too crazy about slutty dresses,” Bilson tells Lucky. “You try something on, and if you feel like a slut, you probably look like one.” |
